2012 Survival Guide
2012 Survival Guide - Everyone has heard the dooms day scenarios about
2012 and everything that might happen. A lot of people are anticipating
the end of the world while others are preaching a major shift in
consciousness that could change everything we know. The Mayan calendar
ends on December 21st, 2012 and a lot of people are concerned this means
a catastrophic end that will wipe out humans for good. Whether or not
the prophecies are true doesn't really matter-you've got to have a plan
ready. Making sure you survive 2012 is something you should think about
before it's too late and there's nothing you can do, so don't wait any
longer and start to form a game plan today.
Tip #1) Stock up. Making sure you're completely stocked up on all of the
necessities is a great idea. Make sure you have back up water, food and
clothing. If you're truly anticipating the end of the world this should
be the first thing you do before it's too late and others have beat you
to it. You won't want to be trying to go to the grocery store for water
once panic sets in and people realize what's happening, so always keep
these things stocked and ready to go way ahead of time. A good tip is to
swap out your backup supply with fresh food as much as you can so you
can keep your backup supply from expiring. Next time you go grocery
shopping buy a new case of water and use the one you purchased a month
or so ago while replacing it with the newer one. This will ensure you
have edible and usable food at all times.
Tip #2) Mentally Prepare. If 2012 does result in a huge tsunami or the
world falling apart as we know it, don't panic. Making sure you're ready
for disaster is very important if you have any plans of surviving it.
While everyone else is panicking and running around you need to prepare
to remain calm and collected to handle whatever potential obstacles
might be ahead of you. Just imagine how hurricane Katrina was and do
your best to anticipate at least something as bad if not worse, and have
a game plan ready for how you'll deal with those same challenges of
either being stranded or without certain resources like power or
shelter.
Tip #3) Don't go crazy. Keeping your sanity is going to be a key part of
proper 2012 survival. Don't do anything insane before 2012 hits or
before any major events take place. For example, don't go try to get
revenge on your neighbor or someone else thinking that you won't have to
do any jail time after December 21st. There's no way of telling whether
or not the end of the world is coming, so don't do anything crazy
you'll regret if you seriously believe the end is going to happen.
Tip #4) Stay at home. If you have plans to be out on December 21st, 2012
you might want to cancel them or re-schedule. Staying at home is the
safest place to be during a potential large scale crisis and it gives
you the best chances of staying alive if there's a real disaster that
impacts a large volume of people. Stay away from congested, highly
trafficked areas like cities and areas where panic only travels and
increases with the number of people. If you have another home or camp
somewhere in the woods you might want to go stay there and bring your
bottled water and food along with you. The more remote the better. It'll
keep you from the wide spread panic or people looting your backup goods
and water, just make sure you properly secure your home and secure
anything valuable there.
Tip #5) Assume the worst. This may seem grim but assuming the worst is a
great idea. Run through every potential scenario and disaster that
could happen. Imagine every single obstacle you might run into that
you'd have to overcome and deal with to survive a potential disaster,
riot or mass hysteria. There are a lot of possibilities and if you spend
some time rationally considering the worst possible situations, you'll
be that much more prepared to deal with them when they occur.
Tip #6) Assume the best. For all of the tens of thousands of world
ending prophecies the world's greatest civilizations have been told were
imminent, every single one has been wrong. Assume the best will happen
after December 21st, 2012 and that nothing abnormal will happen at all.
In all odds there is nothing to fear. No asteroids, no tsunamis, no
volcanoes simultaneously erupting at the same time-most likely life will
continue exactly as it has.
Tip #7) Keep tabs on the news. Make sure you watch the news closely in
the months and days leading up to 2012 and make sure you see if there is
any impending disaster that seems inevitable or likely to correlate
with the December 21st, 2012 date. If no immediate threats seem to pose
themselves then you can let your guard down a bit and enjoy the Mayan
calendar ending (and restarting) with a bit more relaxation. As of now
there are no asteroids on a path towards earth and no one has any reason
to believe any natural disasters or nuclear wars will occur around that
time period, but keep your on eye on the news just in case.
Whether or not the end of days comes in 2012 after the end of the Mayan
calendar, it's always a good idea to imagine and plan for catastrophic
disasters such as this just so you're prepared. Even if people had taken
these steps pre-hurricane Katrina or similar natural disasters a lot of
lives could have been saved. Always remember to keep food and clothing
and other resources available and backed up in case of these emergencies
and keep your cool as much as possible.
